In athletics there are two secrets to being a success. They have to do with good preparation … mentally and emotionally. If you are not emotional about what you are doing you’re not going to reach your full potential. There is no substitute for good preparation in anything. Good preparation definitely includes being mentally and emotionally prepared. There is an old saying in coaching, ‘Any coach can get things done right, but the great coaches get the right things done.’ Being prepared allows you to get the right thing done, not just doing things right.
