Glynn Wilson is a veteran political reporter turned science/environment writer, about to finish the second year of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville doctoral program. It will be his fourth and final degree, otherwise known as a terminal degree (I wish they didn't call it that).
Wilson turned 40 this year, but still feels about 29 most of the time, except when climbing one of these East Tennessee hills on his Canondale mountain bike, or walking up the 18th fairway on one of the area's mountainous golf courses.
Wilson loved being a newspaper reporter, and free-lancing for magazines and wire services, although teaching journalism is even better. There's no such thing as tenure or summers off in the news business.
